  • help with prop I.D

I was cleaning out the garage loft last month and found a propeller all wrapped up in paper. It was my grandparents house and no one has been up there since the 1950's. I have scoured your site to i.d. this unit to no avail. Perhaps someone can help me with this. Stamped on the center hub says"Wright Aviation Engine", 8 bolt hub, it is 9' long.
Burned into the wood - "Hartzel contract"
    0 6654
    design air 1732
    N.M. airplane
    R.H.T.
    N.22043
    oak
What would the age and value be on something like this, if it is valuable i will put it in the house. It looks like it has never been mounted, no dirt or grease in the hub, and it has metal on the leading edge. I wish i could give pics but can't quite figure that out. thanks, paul

The Wright engine may refer to the Hispanzo Suiza engine. "R.H.T." refers to "Right Hand Tractor" - the direction of the thread. See if the hub dimensions match the Wright A listed on this table.

See this thread to learn how to post photos on the forum.

Greetings Paul, I'm passing thru NW Ohio tomorrow. If you are interested in selling your propeller, please call or write.
      Thanks, Scott
