Comments: Rare original propeller built by Axial for the famous Fokker DVII using the Mercedes 160 HP engine, this model  propeller is very similar to this propeller for the same aircraft using the BMW engine.  The Mercedes DIII engine was used on the earlier  DVII models before switching to the more powerful BMW engine in the summer of 1918.  Axial typically did not use decals on most of their propellers, and stamped their identifying information transversely on the blade rather than the hub of the propeller.  The Fokker DVII appeared late in WW1 but is generally regarded as the best performing aircraft in the war.
