Comments:  One of several different propellers for the Curtiss Model F and MF flying boats, this one was manufactured by Falcon Propellers of Jamestown, New York.  The model number is among several listed in a 1921 catalog when a large number of propellers, now obsolete, were sold at auction.  This propeller has been re-varnished, but retains the original decals and original patina on the metal sheathing.  Unlike many others which were unused surplus this one shows evidence of being mounted, as noted by the presence of "witness marks" on the hub where the metal hub assembly compresses the wood.  The "S.E." number refers to the Bureau of Steam Engineering, which procurred propellers, and there are USN (Navy) stampings near the identifying stamped letters.  Since this was a (left hand thread) pusher configuration, the decals are on the rear of the blade.
