Unhappy Unidentifed Prop

Thank you Lamar. Hopefully someone else, maybe closer to home, may have a clue. The entire mystery of finding only half a prop with no reports of an accident is intriguing.

Wooden propellers get broken all of the time without anything being recorded as an accident, although technically the engine needs to be inspected when that happens. This happens especially on rough fields. It was so common in the barnstorming and early mail days that spare propellers were usually kept on some locations to avoid waiting for them to be shipped.

I'm guessing that the "43" in the serial number likely indicates the year it was manufactured.
