  • Hélice stampe sv4b

    Hello,
Could someone identify a propeller that's marked with
    Stampe sv4b
    Rn 4pd 140cv
    Type 1536
    Numero 2818

Is this a second world war prop or not?

It was likely used well after WW1 but not necessarily during WW2, as the Stampe was developed in the 1930s.

I think the stampings indicate that it was a Renault 140 HP engine.

      Hi Geertse,

It is a Levasseur prop. I do think it is the very one on the attached pic.
The prop number is 42818 and not 2818. It was made in 1945.
IMHO, the prop was never mounted on an airplane, so the story the seller tells (crashed near his house), could not be true.

          Hello Pmdec,

The date on the prop is 10/07/1945.
There are marks that is was used on an airplane.
There's also a date scratched in the back on the remains of the blade.
          29/05/1946
Could this be the crash date?
Greetings and thx for the info

            Hi Geertse,
Could you post highres pics of the four sides of the hub? Or send them to me directly (see pic below).
            Regards,
