Can anyone tell me anything about my heirloom.

It is a S & S Aircraft Ltd. Winn, Manitoba Serial # Ser.1654 and has 8 bolt holes. Dimension is approx. 92" (233 cm).

In addition there is a R.S. 9.41 and DES. 1242-B ( or E) not sure. I may have an 8 following the 1242 - can't make it out.

I expect this is a 1940's wooden prop and it has black 'painted' panels on the one side - probably to stop reflection while in operation.

I have had this for 30 years and it belonged to my best friend (deceased) father (deceased) who was a resident in norther Ontario and an RCAF veteran of WWII

You should find the following topic in this Forum of interest: http://woodenpropeller.com/forumvB/s...ead.php?t=1393. In addition, there are quite a few other S&S posts here too.
