  • gardner & sons propeller

Hi. I have a wood propeller that was built by Chicago Propellers W. M H. Gardner & Sons in Forest Park ILL. Both decals are very good shape. The markings on the hub are 383 - 1, P 2.28 FT. they are very visible. I have not found this drawing number on any forms to identify this prop. I would like to know what type of engine it was designed for and what type of wood it is made from. I would also like to know about what year it was made. I know Gardner went out of business shortly after WWII. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike.

That seems like a very flat pitch, unless it's a very short propeller. What's the diameter?

    Got a photo?
