  • Help With Prop ID

Hello All - Got a wooden prop that I would like to sell but have no idea of the manufacturer or other specifics. It is 89 inches long with an 8 bolt-hole hub and metal sheathing along the leading edges. Some numbers are stamped on the hub but are not all readable. One set is "K24, 23619 and 849503". Another set is "SERIAL A?44-23878 and B???? and K21605". It was rumored to have come from a Stearman but can't confirm this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes when the numbers are hard to read you have to guess at what they might have been.

The "K" is often a reference to a military contract with the years between 1942 and 1944 in the 2 digit prefix. See if it might be more likely one of the numbers on this list, in which case it can be cross referenced to the civilian model number. For instance if it looks like "44K24605 then it may be identical to 90JA81.

A photo of the hub and markings might help.
