The propeller is a Sensenich with the "SB" decal serial number 8743 and the model designation DES69D. It is for a 40hp engine at 2575 RPM. There are six hub attachment points.
I assume this is for the Continental 40 hp engine. How can I date the manufacture and determine which aircraft it was for (Piper E2, J2, J3, Aeronca series, Taylorcraft etc). Thanks! |

Per Sensenich themselves you can't date it except that it was manufactured between 1932 and 1942.
When a propeller design was approved for several different models there is no way to tell which model might have used it, unless by some quirk you found a log entry for an aircraft that happened to match the exact serial number, which is extremely unlikely. |
