Help with ID of propeller and aircraft

The propeller is a Sensenich with the "SB" decal serial number 8743 and the model designation DES69D. It is for a 40hp engine at 2575 RPM. There are six hub attachment points.

I assume this is for the Continental 40 hp engine. How can I date the manufacture and determine which aircraft it was for (Piper E2, J2, J3, Aeronca series, Taylorcraft etc). Thanks!

Per Sensenich themselves you can't date it except that it was manufactured between 1932 and 1942.

When a propeller design was approved for several different models there is no way to tell which model might have used it, unless by some quirk you found a log entry for an aircraft that happened to match the exact serial number, which is extremely unlikely.
