Apparently, Maybach intentionally mis-stamped some of those engines as 260 HP in order to boost their sales compared to the 260 HP Mercedes. Unfortunately, that just adds to the confusion.

It's not uncommon for some of the propellers to NEVER be positively identified, even when the engine is known.

        Thanks.
That sounds to be a "common" way just to misslead the buyers, the very right PS shoud in this case probebly be close to 245PS instaed of the 260PS as stamped on in the wood.?

This seems to be a good explanation why the propeller are stamped as high as 260PS.

Here is a possible explanation for how your propeller was found in Sweden:

Yes, if that was the application it could indicate that the horsepower was intentionally mis-stated.

On the other hand, we've seen a significant number of propellers that were stamped with horsepower numbers that don't correlate with any of the published horsepower ratings for any of those engines.

That probebly why it`s found here in Sweden?

If it was made for that aircraft (a seaplane) it almost certainly would have had metal sheathing.

Good point; I hadn’t thought of that.

                      Here’s another possibility:
