  • Unknown Prop

Hi I came across this prop from an girlfriends uncle, he said an family member long dead gave it to him. I'm just wondering if we could identify it or maybe even get some history. Either way its pretty cool. Here is a picture of the identifying information. Its about 8 feet long with brass on the froward edge of the prop. The two blades are straight. I have a movie, but the website doesn't let me up load it, so here are some still photos.

    Thanks

It's a U.S. Navy propeller of some kind, but I have no idea what aircraft it might have been designed for. BU. Aero made a number of optical products and watches, etc., but I'm not aware of any specific aircraft production. I'm just guessing that it was made after WW1 but probably prior to or during WW2.

Can you post a pic of the entire prop, taken as if the camera is looking directly through the center bore?

Also, see if you can rule out certain engines by matching to the hub dimensions.
