  • WW11 Avro Anson Props

I have 2 propellors to sell:
Propeller 1 went on a 330 horsepower American Jacobs L6 MB engine fitted on a twin engine Avro Anson Mk II airplane during WWII. This particular propeller dates from April 1944.
Propeller 2 went on an Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah IX British engine fitted on a twin engine Avro Anson Mk I airplane during WWII. This particular propeller dates from August 1943.
The propellers have several inspection stamps and ‘SS Aircraft Limited, Winnipeg’ stickers.
For more details on these motors and planes, see the history at:
    http://www.lancastermuseum.ca/engine_jacobs.html
    http://www.lancastermuseum.ca/engine_cheetah.html

The propellors are 90-1/2" long X 9-1/8" widest diameter X 8-1/2" thick at the hub and the palms are 9" wide.
The propellers shows normal wear, and are handsome pieces.
The propeller for the Jacob's engine has an immediate post war electric clock, with an interesting art deco face, fitted in the hub, and hanging chains screwed discreetly into the rear face.
If you have any questions, would like email photos, have ideas re value or are interested in buying, please send an e-mail.
