  • Avro Anson MK II Prop

i was just wondering if anyone could assist in providing more info on this prop:

    S&S Aircraft Limited, Winnipeg
    SER.H.7447
    SS-SS.170.D

    thanks

I think that was used on an Avro Anson, but I'll check on some references if I can find them. S&S seems to have made quite a few of them, some of which I believe are stamped with the aircraft model in addition to the drawing number.

OOPS...this is what i found on the hub of the prop

      D 90
      P 80
      JACOBS L6
      ANSON 2
      SEPT 1943

I see the refernce to the ANSON and Sept 1943, but what does all this mean???

      thanks for all your help

I'd take that to mean that the diameter is 90 inches, the pitch is 80, it was made in 1943 to fit a Jacobs L6 engine in an Avro Anson, perhaps a Mark 2. Here is one of many websites that tell about the plane http://www.bcam.net/ac_rest/anson.htm.
