  • Seek Help with I.D. of this Prop

    Hello -
Looking for a little help on ID of this prop, which I have owned for years.
I am new to this format, & think [?] I have attached a few images, including DES & serial #'s, but not sure. OAL is 104", hub [8 hole all wood lam] front diameter is 10" & rear diameter is 16". Brass tips & leading edges, and old stenciling reads 'Paterson [NJ?] Airways.'
    Thanks!
    Jim

Although the "GARDNER" stamping looks a little "home-made" the other stamps refer to a Gardner Type Certificate, but that model is not listed along with the other Gardner props, so I don't know what it was designed for.

      Dave -
      I appreciate your reply.
How might you recommend I further research this item?
Fortunately, it has apparently never been messed with [cleaned] & is in great original condition.
      Thank you,
      Jim

I'm not sure where else to look. You could try a query to the librarian at the National Air and Space Museum. They are often helpful in these kinds of inquiries but even they often don't have the answer.
