  • Prop Identification Help

I am studying to be an aerospace engineer and I have always wanted an old wooden propeller. I recently bought one however I cannot figure out who made it and what plane it came off of. Any help would be appreciated.

The blade is 6 feet long and made from a lighter colored wood.
    It has 6 bolt holes
The diameter of the hub is 7 inches and it is about 4.25 inches thick.
The diameter of the center hole is about 2.25 inches
The widest diameter on the blade is also about 7 inches.
It seems to have 6 laminations along the blade.
On the back of the hub it has a 1 and a 2 written on either side of the center hole parallel with the center plane of the blade.
Written around the hole is AB9586.
It looks to be missing the metal sheathing at the blade tips indicated by the discoloration and rivet holes.

    I have attached pictures.

Also, as seen in the photos the prop is not in the best condition. I think restoring it might hurt its value (I could be wrong). What is the best way to "clean it up" without devaluing it.

    Thanks.

It may be an airboat (or snowsleigh) prop.
