Another request for Sensenich ID

Hello all,

First let me start off by saying great forum. I have spent a couple hours searching and learning quite a few things about the propeller that has been in the family.

Searching sensenichs website, the serial that is inscribed is listed as

"If your Sensenich Wood Propeller has a non-letter prefix or an "A" prefix serial number, your propeller was manufactured between 1932 and 1942"

Hopefully I can get some help with this. The propeller was one of my grandfathers centerpieces as he was an ex marine and collected war artifacts from all major wars. Unfortunately, he passed before I could learn of its history (it may or not be war related). Here are the identifying marks that I can find,

Model: S2R272
Ser: 65859
HP 200
RPM 2450

Please recheck the model number. Is it perhaps 82RS72? Sensenich model/design numbers are here: http://www.modernwoodenpropellers.com/sensenich.htm

What is the diameter (length) of your prop?

After taking a closer look, and unmounting the prop and cleaning it a little, I do believe you are correct. This is great news. It indeed is 82rs72. Thank you very much. Using the link you provided and the proper model, I see it belongs to either

Grumman Widgeon G 44, G44 A

Grumman OA 14

Preliminary searches on both aircraft show a flying boat, but most of the pictures on the net show a three blade prop but ill continue my search.

I just finished taking pictures and will post them up shortly(in the show off your prop section). The prop length is 69.5 inches. The serial is stamped on back of the hub as well. I can never thank you enough. I have tons of pictures of aircraft that has my grandfather next to them. It would be really swell to find one with either of these planes.

The prop length (diameter) should be 82 inches. Does your prop have full brass tips? I cannot tell from the pictures. Perhaps it was strike damaged then cut down to make it look better?
