Identify old Gypsy Major wooden prop

I have a wooden prop with brass leading edges. stampings are Gypsy Major 80" diameter 52.7 pitch ser#A1216 DRG 100b any imformation identifing this would help

I can't identify it. Probably it is from a DHC built Tiger Moth. Possibly from a DHC Chipmunk. Does the data on the prop show which series or type of the Gypsy Major engine?

No All is says is Gyspy Major and the diameter , pitch and the DRG #

Then it is likely to be from a Tiger Moth.

Hi Bob the guy I was checking this out for is not interested in selling this right now but would like to know if you could put some kind of value on it if he was to sell it, as I said before it is in excellent shape and could be overhauled and put in service again... John

Hi John,

Such props are not uncommon. They sell here in the UK for around 300gbp, about 600usd. But after sixty or seventy years the glue begins to crystallise so the prop could not be regarded as airworthy, even if looked sound.
