Anyone have any idea what specific plane this went on, or know anything about the company?

I've not heard of the manufacturer before but the following planes were equipped with the Super Scarab 165:
Fairchild 22 C 7 G, F
Fairchild M 62 B
Fairchild C 61
Fairchid 24W41A
Fairchild UC-61
Cessna C165 and perhaps others, too.
