  • Wooden Airplane / Airboat Propeller ID Help

    Good Day,

I have what I thought to be an old Airplane propeller that came with the purchase of a property. Upon further research it would appear to potentially be a Airboat propeller. It is 12 feet long, squared-tip with metal edges, made of wood that has been painted red, and has an 8 bolt pattern at the center. I can vaguely see numbers near the center that read '3' and then '11898' below.

Anyone have any idea what this could be from? Any idea on value? Any insight is appreciated, I'll attach pictures. Thanks for the help

I think it's way too long to be an airboat propeller, and I doubt it's an aircraft propeller as well. The hub looks like it might fit an OX5 engine (based on what looks like a 4" hub thickness) but that's barely an educated guess. I wouldn't consider it particularly collectible, which would generally mean that it's not worth much, particularly as a mystery prop.
