I have a 4 blade sensenich wood prop S8229 ( so 7/52-8/53 I assume) it is a 4 blade and 41” diameter. The model # looks to be IO4Q-42-1 the O could be a zero or a capital C and the Q could be a G or even a 6. I could potentially do something like stain it to see the numbers better if I had to.
It looks about the right size for a drone of the style used in WWII but it’s a bit late for that, too thin for a club or an airboat I would assume.
I was told this one and others were being used at the Mercury Marine test building in Oshkosh as ceiling fan blades in the 70’s-80’s. This also makes me wonder if this was for a drone as Carl Kiekhaefer made engines for drones in WWII and possibly the employees just took the old props and used them that way?
I can’t find any info on this prop and would love to know more!
Thanks
