  • Another Hugo Heine propeller

    Hi,

Is somebody knowing for which aircraft was made this German Hugo Heine propeller? Perhaps from WW2.
    Length 212cm, hub thickness 9.5cm.
Normally, on German parts for aircraft, some group of digits of the numbers is the same that the code of the aircraft for which the part is made. There are five numbers on this propeller and I didn't recognize any group of digits:
86.40.21 (on the flat side of the hub),
9-30020.13 (stamped on the flat side of the hub and on the sticker),
W.Nr 31.28339.29 (stamped on the flat side of the hub),
W.Nr 31.864021 (on one the side of the hub, in red paint),
G.Nr 9-30020 \.1 (stamped on the other side of the hub),
And a stamp which reads D(or B?)AL 423 (airworthy stamp?).

The wood seems to be covered with fabric or glass fiber resin impregnated.

Thanks in advance for any info,
    PM

    Bonjour mon ami,

I have no info on the WW2 output of Hugo Heine, although I know that they were a major supplier to the Luftwaffe. Also a Polish friend told me that Hugo Heine was taken away from his company and put in charge of all the Eastern European propeller makers in the lands conquered by the National Socialists; Poland, Czechoslovakia etc

Did his remit extend Westward to French prop makers?

    With kind regards,

      Hi,

Thank you Bob for your infos.
I don't know of any Heine "interference" with French propeller makers. But if it happened, I think they didn't be vocal about this...

Any idea for this small prop? Do you know about a German forum? I don't know how to search because I don't write nor read German...

      Best regards,
      PM

        Bonjour Mon Ami,

I regret that I know nothing about WW2 Heine props although I note that I come across Heine adverts from that time quite often.

I suggest that you contact the Deutches Museum in München, Bavaria and also the Deutches Technik Museum in Berlin.

I have communicated with them quite often and they are fluent in English, as most Germans are; both have aeronautical departments. Both museums have bought my books on German Prop Makers of WW1.

        Bon chance avec les Boches!

              Hi Hein.

I received a prop with the following pictures as identifiers.
I would like to restore it to a fair condition, have it box framed but would like to include some history, if possible.
About 3/4 from the tips, it is covered in a fine metal mesh. Was this the original design or was it fixed after a ding?
The prop is 2120mm in diam. and had brass leading edges.

              regards
              Henkie

                Ok, Hein,
I hope you gonna find this post as well.
                What about this one?
Suspected is Bucker Bu 181. And which producer it can be? Schwarz? There is no indication leading to the producer.
                Kind Regards,

                SparrowII

This is our propeller on the Klemm Kl 35 D from 1941, equipped with a Hirth HM504 engine

Its Part No is 9-30128-10, so its allmost the the same exept the last digit, its diameter is 2000 mm. On the Klemm there were also Schwarz Propellers used but their Part No was very different such as 9-40066-17V.

so my oppinion is that it should be a Heine Prop, SparrowII.

                  Greetings Roland
