Help ID this Australian Wooden Propeller?!

It's black, 5 ft from tip to tip with 6 bolt-holes

Stamped on one side of the Hub:

HENDERSON
"INVINCIBLE"
JULY 1937

on the other side

D. 5"-0'
P. 3"-0'.
NO. 7-76

There are a couple of other really hard to read markings on one side - possibly Henderson again and maybe "Reg. NSW" (New South Wales) - there are a few rubbings we've taken in the photos.

Invincible is the name of a British Battleship and possibly a RAN battleship. You might be able to Google a history of RN ship Invincible 1937 and similarly RAN ship Invincible 1937.

Bob, have you ever seen the name of a ship stamped on the hub of an aircraft propeller?

Dave, not recently, but they do occur here in the UK, usually stamped on a hub as a memento.

I have been browsing through my photographs of decals and came across one which indicates that an Invincible Propeller was made by:
C Adams & Son of Mascot NSW and sold as an Invincible Propeller.


The prop has a brass data plate on which is stamped;

Warner SS 165
Drg No A/42/2
GA & Son No 6748
DEC 1956

Note that the initial of the maker is stamped as both C and G.

Heath Parasol

Invincible was a NSW based propellor maker. Henderson is a small engine used in a 20-30’s kitplane, the ‘ Heath Parasol’.
