Discovered a 48" Hartzell wooden propeller. Numbers around the hub are 921 and 39990-A. There is nothing on-line to help identify this piece. Any suggestions are welcome. Pictures are available

That's a weird one. The diameter of four feet along with the wide blade suggests a non-aviation application, perhaps an airboat or similar device. Also, the numbers don't follow the typical aircraft propeller format, and Hartzell was pretty consistent with that nomenclature in all of their "modern" propellers. I suppose an aviation use might include some kind of auxiliary use, like a generator of some kind.
The short answer is that I don't know, but I doubt that it was used to power an airplane (at least a certificated one).
