This wooden propeller was recently passed on to me. It is 79" from tip to tip with 6 bolt holes. There are no identification numbers. I was told it is pre-WW2 & was purchased ~15 years ago at an antique market for $900. Please see pics. Thank you!
Without stamped numbers it could be almost anything, but I doubt very much that it pre-dates WW2, and its size and shape is more typical of post-WW2 trainers and light utility aircraft.
The sheathing, however, looks homemade and not inset into the wood and makes me suspect that the whole thing might be homemade. Also, the metal hub plate is screwed onto the hub, which wouldn't make sense if it used existing bolt holes.
