Identification help?

Hello folks. My wife's father was career army and and an aviation mechanic his whole life (Charles Taylor Master Mechanic, he was very proud of that). After he passed away we found this propeller in his garage. It wouldn't necessarily be military, he had lots of interesting stuff.

I'm planning to display it in our home and it'd be really neat to know what sort of aircraft it came from. It's 62.5" long and in really rough condition, I can't find any identifying marks. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think it's homemade. It would not have been mounted on an engine as the center bore hasn't been drilled. The bolt hole pattern does not match any aircraft engines either.
