  • Nice Sensenich propeller

I just purchased this Sensenich propeller. I have tried to research the numbers on the blade, but can't seem to find any match. Anyone? Here is exactly what is on the blade and attached are some pics. The prop is roughly 85" in length.

It may have been applicable to several different aircraft, but I'd say it's most likely for a Fairchild 24 with a Warner Scarab engine. Look at the "86C" models on this page.

See this thread earlier today which likely also relates the a Warner 145 engine and which also has 8 bolt holes.

Thanks for the reply Dbahnson. The propeller is in very nice shape and does not have any cracks. Is there any way to tell what year it was made? Possible from the serial number or the sticker? Is it valuable. I paid quite a bit for it.

It would have been made between 1932 and 1942, according to Sensenich.

You have to look at the "Completed Listings" on eBay to get much of an idea of value. Note some of the similar propellers that didn't sell and note the prices of some that did. I'd guess that yours would end up somewhere in the $900 RANGE.
