    Thanks a lot!!

              Hi,

The pitch command system is typically a Hamilton Standard one. The prop is geared (counting the teeth could give the reduction ratio). Without "numbers", no way to go further...

EDIT : the "numbers" are stamped on blade foot, and you have to open the crankcase to see them. This one have 6553-21s blades mounted on a 22D30 hub (from a Beech 17). The third pic is the variable pitch sytem (the aluminium part is missing on yours):

                Thanks for the info.
I assume that the hub is American ,or are they also used on Britisch airplanes?
Is it possible that the prop came from a bomber plane?
Due to the size and weight of it that's my opinion.

                  Hi Geertse,

I don't think so: your prop is a relatively small two blade prop. Larger aircraft were fitted with 3 or 4 blade props.

                  Regards,

                    Hello,
No no it's a three bladed hub.
                    Whith only one blade attached.
The dimensions of the blade are 1800mm long from the insert in the hub and 310mm width.
                    It's very big and heavy.

I think the weight is more than 150kg.

                        Hi Geertse,

Sorry, I missed the three blade hub at first look! Perhaps you could find some info there: http://www.enginehistory.org/Propell...d/hamstd.shtml and there: http://www.notplanejane.com/hamiltonstd.htm

                        Regards,

                          Hello pmdec,
Apparently it was also used on the lancaster as well on the B-17.
So it would be very hard to determine due to the condition off it.
Thanks a lot for the info!
                          Kind regards,
                          Geertse
