  • Spitfire prop ?

    Good day
    I have this propellor it is not with me so I cannot give lengh.
    What i do know is it is a wooden laminate covered with something. There is a number on the metal base D214703

    I have been told its from a Spitfire, can anyone confirm this ?

    I don't have any record of that number. Most Spitfire props were made by Rotol. Can you find nos beginning RA or R on the metal shaft.

      Thanks for the reply. There is another nr that looks like RA 5612. And then also 14346 I hope this helps.

        Rik,

        You haven't found the crucial part no for the prop blade, which would identify the Mark of Spitfire, but the no RA5612 is for an adaptor that was used on Mk1 to Mk 9 Spitfires.
