    Looking for advice.
I recently found a propeller buried in the corner of an antique shop. It was covered in several layers of paint the last being Gold spray. All ID was buried beneath the paint but for a couple hundred still sounded like a descent deal for a wall mount.
After removing paint I found a Sensenich 72C-42 w/ good tips and brass.
Problem is removing residual paint buried in the wood grain. Antique site suggested apply spar varnish then re-stripping and rubbing down w/ toluene. Does that sound right?
Finally, is it possible to get Sensenich decals?
    Thanks for the help, Gazoo

Since it's already been stripped of its original surface, it probably doesn't matter much what else you do at this point. The application of an interval carrier like spar varnish should help take some of the paint with it when the varnish is removed. Using different solvents, like MEK and naptha might also help.

I'm not sure that you can get authentic decals. YOu can have them made, but I'm not sure how expensive that is.
