  • Spitfire Prop?

Hey guys! I found this thread in a search for information on a propeller blade I got at an aerojumble sale back in the late 1990's. It is a cuffed blade with the standard yellow tip, black finish. Wood, of course. The yellow dot has the following:

    R
    41482
    41481
    41483

The guy I got it from stated it was from a Wellington, but I think it is too small. The blade is about 50". I am thinking it is off of a Spitfire V rather than a late war Griffin.

What do you think? Thanks for your help! ohh....and excuse the dust!

After doing some more research (and thanks to the Spitfire book by Morgan and Shacklady) is looking like my blade is a Rotol Jablo used on Spitfire V aircraft.

Neat. Are you certain that it's wood and not some composite material?

It's wood. Underneath you can see the wood grain.
