Hamilton Standard Propeller year and plane?

I have come across a Hamilton Standard Prop with the following stamped on it:

H.S. PROPELLERS INC.

DES 72CA54
SER 16407
TC 752
?C 18

It is in relatively good shape. It is 56" long with a 4 3/8" bolt pattern. Pic links are as follows:

I am curious to the age of the prop and what type of airplane it would have been used on.

I'm a little skeptical that the "HS" stands for Hamilton Standard, although it may (in which case is would have been made 1929 or later), but the drawing number indicates that it's supposed to be 72 inches, so the tips have been cut off. I'm not near my reference material to see if someone else may have had that drawing number in their list, but if no one else reponds, I'll try to look it up when I'm home next week.
