  • Sensenich prop

I have recently acquired a wooden prop that I gave to my husband for Christmas. Trying to find out what kind of plane it was possibly used on. It is a 72C-42 and according to this site Military Designation is 43K10107. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks!

That was used on a variety of aircraft that used a Continental 65 HP engine. The Piper Cub is the most known, but a number of other planes did use the same prop.

Unless it is stamped with the 43K.... number, it was built under civilian license, but it's the same propeller either way. Usually they are stamped one way or the other, but not both.

Any way to know what year it was manufactured? What were those planes generally used for? I'll have to check and see if that is stamped on it but I don't think so.

      Thanks!

If it has a serial number stamped on it we can tell the time frame of manufacture. Sensenich's website has serial numbers of their props here: http://www.sensenichprop.com/sen_html/serial.htm
