hi all,
it seems to be THE place to ask experts so here is my question.
I just got a gipsy propeller in poor condition (unfortunatelly, many disbond or wood breakage) and would appreciate any help to identify from which A/C it was installed.
here is marking I can read after paint is removed:
hub backface :
10462 (or 10452) (suppose it is drwg N°)
hub side 1:
H.R.A. 10462 (what is HRA for?)
9/41 (suppose is manuf date sept 1941)
hub side 2:
59673 (or 58673) (is it serial n°?)
GIPSY MAJOR
L.H.T. (what is LHT for?)
xxx(not legible) 5' P. 5-0' (is for pitch 5'?)
wood is mahogany
leading edge sheeting in 6 parts on full lenght on 2 blades
prop lenght is 198 cm
hub thickness is 3.65"
hub hole dia is 2.8"
hub is conical (front diam is 17 cm, rear diam is 22 cm
attaching hole x 8; dia is 0.4 "
Ask for any additional relevant characteristic
I can attach pic if it is helpfull
thanks for your help
