I have a Banks-Maxwell 72 inch wooden Prop and I'm not sure what it was made for. Was it for a boat or aircraft? Model number is 72JA-36 / Serial number is 28296. I would appreciate any info ya'll can provide. Thanks.

Banks-Maxwell Prop?

I suspect that it's an airboat model. While they did make some aircraft propellers, the only 72" models I see listed have a model number beginning with "C", and don't list the length in the model number. (I presume that yours is 72" diameter?)
A picture might resolve it quickly. Airboat props typically have wide blades with flat pitch, and usually squared off ends.
I see they did have a 72CA26 model airboat prop. I don't find a "JA" model.Dave
