I am building a airboat to run over ice and have two props. Both are 60 inches one is a 17 pitch and the other is a 28, I believe both are banks Maxwell. The boat is a 16 foot Jon boat which weights about 900 lbs give or take. The 17 pitch ran great on a corvair with a 85 hp but now I will be running a 110 hp motor. The 28 was used on the same boat with a 140 hp corvair. The boat will be running about 5-10 mph just enough to keep forward momentum. But the power is needed when going from open water to ice. Which prop would be best or should I go with something in-between?
