Unknown Wooden Propeller - Airplane?

Can anyone help me out on the attached prop? It is only 4 feet long (1.21 meters). I am thinking it is too small for a plane, and maybe used for a float boat, or for a ski sled. I am guessing the date is in the 1930s or 40s. As you can see, it is marked "Woodcraft Propeller Co. Wichita, Kansas." Does anyone have an idea? Thanks, Mickey

The 5 hole bolt pattern would be unusual for any certificated aircraft engine. I agree that it's probably a non-aviation item, but have no idea what it was for, nor have I heard of the company before.

Thanks, Dave. I have tried my best to locate the company, but nothing comes up. It is an attractive, unrestored piece. Just too bad it is not a piece of aviation. Smitty

Woodcraft Propeller

I also have come across a Woodcraft propeller. Mine is 60 inches long and only has 4 bolt holes. It also has Banks Dallas, Tx stamped on it. Another stamp says what I think is Dustin 180, Serial 24. I'll try to provide a photo if anyone is interested. I did find reference to Woodcraft propellers in a ad section of Popular Mechanics in the 30's...

Any info would be appreciated...
