  • I think I have a modern wooden propellor but not sure

I own a dark wood propeller with six holes and no other identifying marks. I am trying to find out more about it. It was my Dads who was a pilot in the Navy during WWII, Korea and Midway. It has been in my family all my life but I am not sure what kind it is. Any ideas??

Unfortunately that's not nearly enough information. That could describe almost any prop for a light aircraft.

      thanks for a reply!

Thanks Lamar - I am going to try and add a photo attachment - it is very generic looking. I am just hoping to learn anything about it. It is just about 7 feet long (82.75") and even on both sides. The center area on the other side is not worn light like the side shown in photo. So it looks as though it could be a light wood and stained? Thanks for any help! -j

Well that's interesting. No edge protection and the center hole looks like it was greatly enlarged to house a clock, barometer or some such. With no markings at all, perhaps it's a decorator item and not a workable prop.

Maybe others will have an idea.
