  • Can you help ID my propeller?

I "inherited" an old wooden propeller from a friend who was moving. I'd love to know what it is. Looking at photos from the forum, I was able to find some reference numbers I hadn't noticed before - thanks!
    Specs: 90" tip to tip
    wood with fabric on tips
thin strips of metal along the leading edges, wrapping around tips
    6"thick at center
9" wide across the bore hole
    8 holes
markings on the side (curved edge): SERIAL NO 4418028 (or 4478028?)
    DWG NO44K78555 (or 44K18555?)

    markings on flat sides: TM382, 18082 X44X

This prop is in rough shape so markings are hard to see. I'd like to find a good home for it - someone who can care for it properly & appreciate it.

    I appreciate any information!

That drawing (DWG) number is a WW-II military designation but I don't have it in my list. Are there any decals? Any indication who the maker is?

No decals. From the numbers I believe it was made in 1944 and the number format is most like the Hartzell prop model numbers I've seen listed, but doesn't match any exactly. The numbers are hard to read though.

      Thanks!

You are correct about the 1944 contract date. However, I would not jump to any conclusions concerning the other numbers.
