  • G.B. Lewis Co. propeller

    Hello All:

I just acquired a wooden propeller. The following is on the propeller. C.B. Lewis Co., SER 1244, DES L10A40, HP65, R.P.M. 2300. In looking on the net, it seems to be for a Franklin engine. I would appreciate any help in knowing when it was manufactured and what time frame it could have been used. It is about 6 ft. long and looks great except one tip has been damaged.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Unfortunately the production records of G.B. Lewis and most other prop makers have not survived. It's therefore impossible to know when it was manufactured. I would strongly suspect from your props' usage it is from the period after WW-II.
