  • Aircraft(s) using a Chauvière serial 6003

    Hi,

I can't find any aircraft using a Chauvière serial 6003, made in 1945. Markings are serial (6003), prop number (1222) and a date (1?/3/45, that is French markings for 1945 march 1?). There is no airworthy stamps as usual between date digits groups. Chauvière decals seem authentic ones.

    Any idea ?

    Thanks by advance,
    PM

All my Chauviere listings stop at 1918. Do you know how long they continued to manufacture wooden propellers?

      Hi,

I don't know exactly when Chauviere came to an end, but the most recent serial number I have heard of is a 6066 for a Nord 1203 ("Nord Ecrin") type II or III. Aircraft first certificate of airworthiness is from 1947, but Chauvière serial 6066 is on 1966 Nord 1203 certificate of airworthiness.

I think serial number with 6xxx pattern is begining just after WW2. I don't know which number is the last before WW2.

Between WW1 and WW2, Chauvière made wooden and metallic propellers. Wooden propellers serial numbers seem in continuity with WW1 pattern. Five digits have to be read as four digits plus one (ie : 24181 is a 2418-1).
