Wildone left the following post in the Buying and Selling section
I have a propeller that has come into my possession.
It has been cut down and a clock mounted in the centre, it has the following engraved on it.
D64P5 1st Aug32
AC 27581
R/12/32
DRG NO DH 5180/1
ISSUF 14
DH GIPSY 1
Could someone give some guidance on what I have got and what that all means
thanks
D indicates a diameter of 6.4ft, P indicates a pitch of 5ft.
The drg number of DH5180/1 indicates that it is a de Havilland designed prop that was made in August 1932 for the de Havilland Gipsy I engine.
This design of prop was fitted to seven different types of aircraft;
Southern Martlet
Blackburn Bluebird IV
Simmonds Spartan
Simmonds Spartan Arrow
Breda 15
DH 60 M Moth
DH 60 G Gipsy Moth
With kind regards,
Bob
