  • Large Hartzell at Naval Museum

Does anyone have any information on the large wooden Hartzell prop on display at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Pensacola, FL? Must be for an airship. I contacted the Museum and they had no info on it. Photo of the prop and my father attached.

It can't be identified without drawing numbers or other specifics. There were just too many different propellers made to be able to identify one by just appearance.

Tell us the diameter if you can. Plus any data stamped on the hub or possibly on the blades.

We might then be able to help.

      With kind regards,

Sorry, I didn't get that info. Maybe if someone else is going to the Naval Museum, they can see if there is anything stamped on the hub. It will be a while before I get back there.
