    Dave,

I have received a request for help to identify the aircraft that an American Lang propeller was fitted to. I have no data on USA LP's. Can you help?

    right hand DIA. 2.500
    pitch 1.450
    90hp curtiss
    DR.NO.902

    With regards,

I heard from him too. I'm trying to find the numbers and have requested pictures if possible.

I was a little surprised to see the diameter and pitch in metric numbers.

If L245 is the serial number, this would be an early Lang Prop?

Here are some pics of the Lang propeller:

I haven't seen that particular design on a Jenny. I couldn't find the drawing number anywhere, although I did find one digit away, LP 903, which was used on Curtiss F boats and MF boats with a 100 HP OXX engine. Those were pushers, though, so this one wouldn't have worked as a pusher with that engine.

Thanks Dave. Have you passed this info to the owner of the prop?

              Dave & Bob,

Thanks for your help. The propeller is on loan to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. I am trying to assist with the history. Any help you give will be greatly appreciated.

If I can be of any assistance to you please let me know, we have a large staff of mature and experienced aviators and aviation experts.

                Jeff does the University have any information on WW1 German props? It seems unlikely! I am currently writing my volume III on them. I need;

data on individual props for my database; Dia, Pitch, engine etc
photographs of German props with identifiable decals
                details of makers.

I have quite a lot of similar data, but there are gaps.

                With regards,

                Bob
