  • BAP - Liberty 12 - Flottorp

Hi. Some time ago you helped me to identify my propeller.
I am changing my home/contents insurance and would like to get some rough estimate of the value of the thing. Can anyone help me out?

The original discussion and a link to the pictures is at the following link on this site.

It is untouched and in original condition.

    Thanks very much in advance.

For insurance purposes I would value it at around $1500, even though you likely would get a little more than that on something like eBay or with the right kind of outright sale. I'd make sure that the insurance company acknowledges that they would pay that in the event of a loss, however. It certainly is one of the earlier Flottorp props.

      Thanks.

Thanks much. I have been forced to think about what I would grab if there was a fire...and the propeller is higher on the list than my wife would believe...or the value would justify. I would sorely miss it if it were gone.

      Thanks again.

        MP,

Welcome to the inner circle. Lots of us feel like that about propellers!

Just as long as the prop's not higher up on the list than your wife! : )

You suppose it's OK for props to be higher on the list if your wife can watch out for herself?

My humorous comment was prompted by the way the sceen happen to cut off the lines on my monitor such that it read like this:

and the propeller is higher on the list than my wife
              would believe...

The phrase in its shorter form seem equally valid?

(Only a joke, Darling, if you ever read this)
