  • Garuda 120 PS Gnome

Hello, I am new to this forum and this is my first post... hopefully more will follow! Information is requested on a Garuda Feldpropeller labelled

120 PS Gnome (i.e. with 'e' and the end and not the German version 'Gnom')
    D255, Blattbr 025
    Stg 250
    ZUG

    GARUDA
    PROPELLER
    DRP
    NR 12281

    GEPR?FT P&W, STAND 1130

It carries nice Garuda labels on both blades and is in nearly pristine condition, except that the hub was modified to accommodate a clock (as has been done with numerous surplus props after WW1 which, in this case, may have saved it from deterioration or even destruction).
As such it appears rather 'normal', but I have troubles finding information on a 120 PS Gnome used on German planes. Most likely it appears that it is originally a French engine that was taken over and used by the Germans. Given the diameter and pitch, I assume this is for a fast (fighter) aircraft, perhaps a Fokker Dr.I ? Can anybody give more information on these issues?
    Thank you!

The German company Motorenfabrik Oberusel built copies of Gnome engines during WW1. Like yourself, I cannot find any reference to a 120 PS version however.
