Unknown Origin Prop

Hi Everyone,

I recently inherited the prop in the attached pictures. I have no knowledge of the history of this prop and would like to learn a little more about it. Things like when it was manufactured and which airplanes it was on, etc. If you look at the hub you can see that it has been mounted on 2 different a/c.

Can anyone give me any tips on where to find this information?

The prop is approximately 8' long.

I can't magnify your photographs enough to read the data. Can you tell us what the data is? Or post higher resolution photographs.

It's half of a 4-blade propeller for the Curtiss HS2L flying boat. See this link.

This model must have been produced in very large quantities. It turns up frequently. I've seen one matched set (consecutive serial numbers) but all of the others have been stand-alone.
