  • Any help is greatly appreciated......

What a great site this is. I recently came across this massive 8'6" wooden propeller and was trying to find out some information on it.

    - Year it was manufacture?
    - what kind of plane it might have been on?
    - I did wipe it down with soap and water, should I use some linseed oil on it or leave it alone?

And any other information would be greatly appreciated

It's probably late teens or early twenties manufacture, and looks like an OX5 sized hub. Beyond that it could have been used on a variety of planes used by the Signal Corps during that period.

The "S.C." number is a "Signal Corps" number, of no help in identifying usage, but it does indicate military acquisition.

The less you do to it the better.
