ID Help - suspected 1919 Pusher

Good evening. This prop was a gift to my dad by one of his PB4Y-1 (Navy B-24) squadron pilots. It has been in my life for 50 years and I'd like to get to know this member of the family better! Following your 'Dimensions' protocol, B=3 1/8, C=8, E=8, F=1/2, G=13 1/4

It looks like a Liberty engine propeller from one of the Navy flying boats of the late teens and twenties. The left hand rotation implies that it may very well have been a pusher rather than tractor application.

There should be some numbers stamped around the hub, and I'm guessing that there are also some anchor symbols as well, usually with "U.S." stamped along with it.

Thanks for responding so quickly, Dave! Above is a photo of the numbers. Above and slightly to the left of the '1' is the anchor with 'U' & 'S' above and on either side of the stock. Does this help with your ID? h

I can't read the numbers from the photo.

My apologies. The anchor is above the '1'; below the '1' is '35 255'; then '88 X 511' (the '11' is obscured. Below that is 'P524T'; below that are what look like 2 tri-blade props; then upside down is 'SF364-159'.

I couldn't find those numbers in any of the reference stuff I have. Is it possible that the "S.F." could be "S.E."? S.E. was used on some models and I believe stood for "Steam Engineering", which is the department of the Navy that procured propellers at that time.

I do think that it's almost certainly from a Navy flying boat using a Liberty engine, but might be hard to nail down beyond that.

It might be the same model as in one of those pictures. The shape is fairly common, though, and not enough to positively identify it.

What photo offer are you referring to?
