  • SE5a props

    Greetings!

    What a great resource!

I'm curious if there is a list of propellers that were used on the SE5a?

    Thanks!

    Tom

    Here's some:

    AB662
    AB662C
    AB7533
    AB7673
    AB8080
    Oddy2085
    T28906
    T28907
    T28908
    T28137

There could be others, and there are different ones for the SE5.

      Great! Thank you.

Which would be considered the most common? And, can you direct me to more detailed information on them?

      Thanks!

I don't know how I would determine which was "most common", although if you knew the most common engine model used, I might narrow it down from that.

As far as more information, there isn't a lot. Having the drawings (blueprints) would provide a ton of information, but those are scarce to non-existent from my experience.

          OK. Good point.

I've got the Windsock Datafile Special on British Propellers on order.

          http://www.windsockdatafilespecials.co.uk/stock.html

WWI British Propellers. Using official factory photos, colour plates and drawings Peter Cooksley and Bruce Robertson show how WWI British airscrews were produced. 9 colour plates, 8 colour logos, 20 photos, 7 drawings and full list of airscrews. £11.50
MODEL DINOSAUR by RLR (signed) Hints and tips galore: kits/conversions/resins/ dioramas/painting – many great colour photos! £12.00

Hopefully that may shed a bit of light.

I also came across an image of what I think you have listed as a T28906.

          How does one confirm identity?

With British propellers, there will almost always be a drawing number stamped on the hub, and the Windsock book you've ordered lists most of them and the aircraft they were used on. A lot of the French props have series numbers that can be referenced as well.

US props and German props can be hard to identify.
