Help with Heine Prop ... what Aircraft was it from ????

The following is able to be read in the positions listed

STAND .... (on blade just to left of hub) some sort of approval ??
1170

GEPRUFT .... ( on blade to right of hub ) some sort of cerification ??
P & W

The followin is in the hub itself , from top to bottom

160 PS ... ( horsepower )

GNOM ... definitely NO E on the end

D 270 ..... diameter of 2.7 m

ST 245 ..... Pitch

HEINE .... Manufacturer

WAIDMANSLUST ... one of the "Heine" factory locations

Is there anyone out there who would know what aircraft or even engine that this prop was originally on.
The indications are around 1917 ....

Ian,
It's almost certainly for a 160 Gnome, despite the absence of the "e". Engines and aircraft were often abbreviated, even to just "Gn" for Gnome, "Spa" for SPAD, etc. You can confirm the engine by going to this chart and confiming the hub dimensions.
Beyond confirming the engine, it might be hard to know what aircraft it was intended for. German props especially can be hard to identify.

The measurements of my prop

Hi ,

Just checked the measurements

outside to outside of hub at thickest part 10 inches

edge of plate to edge of plate ( where bolts go) 8 3/8 inches

centre hole 3 3/4 inches

thickness of hub 5 1/2 inches

between bolt centres 6 inches

So, based on that I guess it isnt Gnome any other thoughts ?

You're right. That doesn't sound like a Gnome hub. A picture might help.
